For most paid profile packs, yes — I offer a free Sampler so you can try the icon style and quality before buying the full pack. Look for the Sampler link on the product page or the Sampler section of the Online Store directly.

If your download includes a keyboard shortcuts file, check the PDF guide included in your package — it walks you through setup step by step. Since every application is a little different, the exact location and process may vary slightly.

The icon pack for each installation is labelled with a .streamDeckIconPack extension. Simply double click on that file to install the icon pack into the Elgato Stream Deck software.

Some Windows systems hide the AppData folder by default, but it’s easy to make it visible:

1. Open File Explorer and go to your C: drive.

2. At the top, click View on the menu bar.

3. Click Options (or click the small arrow below it and choose Change Folder and Search Options).

4. In the window that appears, open the View tab.

5. Under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.

6. Click OK—and you should now see the AppData folder.

On macOS, the Library folder is hidden by default to prevent accidental changes. Here’s how to make it visible:

1. In the Finder menu, click Go.

2. Hold down the Option key, and you’ll see Library appear in the list.

3. Click Library to open it.

I update products whenever the corresponding application gets a major update or new features that affect functionality. Since I use these tools myself in my own work, I usually wait a bit before installing major updates — especially mid-project. For example, it's often best to hold off updating Pro Tools until you've finished your current session, to keep things stable.
